The Shimmer Effect is an online project conceived by two independent music producers, Stephen Mullarkey aka Salook (UK) and Sjanine Steyn aka Alchesound (SA), who randomly met on a music production website, looperman.com, and began collaborating and sharing ideas. Once they posted their first project it was clear that they should align their skills to leave a universal footprint as one entity.

Their song "Innovators" was considered better than 83% of music submitted to MusicXray and 80% of listeners gave the track a YES!

The Shimmer Effect has been described as: "Shimmerlicious! Upper level and weirdly outstanding. Strange, mysterious, kind of scary and at the same time compulsive to listen.
