Our first ever event!

22.09.2010

Greetings sonic traveller

An idea has started forming in our wise Chief's mind and we would like to share it with you. Bushmen Records are planning our first ever event! This event will be the launch of The X-Structure's 10th album with the funds received going towards their front-man, Starrzan's, trip to Brazil. We will also have an open market where various crafty merchants will sell their wares.

We are planning some exciting things and will film as much we can of the event for all of you who cannot make it on the day. If you feel you want to support us financially in making this event happen then you are very welcome to do so by clicking the "Donate" button below. We have quite a bit of overheads to cover so that would be great.

The event will be held on the 4 December 2010. We will keep you updated on our progress. Until then...

New release: Meta by The X-Structure

06.09.2010

Our first ever "double release in one day" comes from no-one other than those daring musical adventurers, The X-Structure.

Meta is their 9th album, released just a month after their previous hit album, Doxology. They must be importing their music or something for the amount of albums they're bringing out, but we aren't complaining, it's that good. Meta is reminiscent of their first album, Westcoast Trip, filled with downtempo beats and trip-hop grooves, but still mixed with their newer sounds. You could say The X-Structure is on to something and should continue following this path but as we know them they are sure to discover new things on their way and take the road less travelled.

Style: Trip-hop, Down-tempo

It's time to party with DJ Sledge

04.09.2010

We are very happy to announce the arrival of the newest addition to our tribe, DJ Sledge.

His forte is funky house, electro and trance. And he has a fine tuned ear for making music that can get any party started. That's just what the doctor ordered for the coming South African summer of 2010/11. Even if it's not summer where you are his tunes will get your head bobbing and your feet tapping and will make you think it's summer time.

But don't just take our word for it, get ready for the imminent release of his debut album right here on Bushmen Records.

Dj Khoisan featured on Listenup SA

20.08.2010

We are proud to announce that Dj Khoisan is being featured in the latest podcast of the leading South African electronic music website, Listenup SA.

http://www.listenupsa.com/2010/08/19/new-mix-the-matrix-2-0-resounded-by-dj-khoisan/

Listenup SA is a user driven website but also has its premier podcast where only the best mixes of SA's top DJs get featured.

This is not only great for DJ Khoisan and Bushmen Records but also great for those netlabel artists in his mix. Hopefully this will cultivate a greater interest in the netlabel scene in South Africa and produce future mixes featuring more South African artists.

Stay tuned to Bushmen Records.
